August Update
The Horrors Persist, but So Do I
Hello friends,
It has been a bit since I’ve done an update. To quote that whimsical philosopher the Joker, here we go.
I have wrapped up the rough/initial draft of Dirty Deeds: Vagabonds. Which is book one of a trilogy with Cannon Publishing. What is Dirty Deeds: Vagabonds about? Vagabonds is part of J.F Holmes’ Fallen Empire universe. It’s a story about thieves and cons and risk. It’s about secret missions, lost planets, missing ships, and trashy star-faring yachts won in back room card games. Most of all it’s about friendship, family, and the things we do to preserve them. And, if all goes according to plan you can pick up your copy on Black Friday.
In other news, my gritty gaslamp urban fantasy is back from the oh-so-excellent editor, Tim McKay. All that remains is to wrap up said edits, do a bit of formatting and Quid Pro Quo will be available for purchase on October 21st. What is Quid Pro Quo about? Well, it’s about courage and bravery, cowards and fear. It’s a story that answers the question how far would you go to save and protect those you love? In the case of Thomas Cooper and Lieutenant Justin C. Dunbar, all the way to death’s door. And maybe a might further.
Keep an eye out for presale and, should you be interested in becoming an ARC reader for either project, drop me a line at davidhensleywrites@gmail.com or leave me a note in the comment’s for this post.
With those two projects in the editing and wrapping up phases I’m working on some short fiction to clear my head.
Allow me to introduce Gideon Cole.
He’s an interdimensional gumshoe. A fixer, a problem solver and a finder of things. Odds are good you’ll see him in some upcoming anthologies. Who knows, maybe a full length book or two as well.
As always you can find all of my books on amazon. Click the button and have a look.
And that is nearly everything I have going on. For now. Unless you count yard work, home renovations, the day job and a small passel of grandkids.
Until next time, stay frosty and try anything you can’t do on a bicycle.
